Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Astraia — both the mobile app and this website, www.aristourgima.net/astraia — published by ARISTOURGIMA LLC ("we," "us," "our"), an Ohio limited liability company.

By downloading or using the app, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. What Astraia is

Astraia is a measuring aid. You calibrate your screen against a real object of known size — a credit card, a coin, or a ruler — and the app then helps you measure a ring or a finger and converts that measurement into US, UK, EU, and Japanese ring sizes.

Astraia is free to download and use. There is no account, no subscription, and no purchase required to use any feature.

This website describes the app and links to a small selection of jewellery from third-party retailers. We do not sell anything, take payment, or hold stock.

2. Measurement accuracy — please read this

Astraia provides an estimate, not a guaranteed measurement. We do not guarantee that any result is accurate, complete, or correct, and no result should be treated as a precise or final measurement.

Astraia is a guide that depends entirely on the care you take when using it.

Accuracy depends on how you use the app. The app cannot detect, warn you about, or correct mistakes made while measuring. Results will be wrong if you:

• Calibrate hastily, carelessly, or without following the on-screen instructions
• Use a reference object that is worn, bent, non-standard, or not the object you selected
• Mis-set the calibration slider, or accept a calibration that only looks close
• Rush the measurement, or align the ring or finger by eye rather than carefully
• View the screen at an angle instead of straight on, introducing parallax error
• Measure a different finger, or a different hand, from the one the ring is for
• Enter, select, or save the wrong values, or misread the result
• Re-use a calibration made on a different device, or after changing your screen, case, or display settings

Accuracy also depends on things nobody controls. Even a careful measurement may not match a jeweler's, because of:

• Screen protectors, cases, display scaling, or zoom and accessibility settings
• Manufacturing tolerance in your reference object
• Natural changes in finger size from temperature, time of day, exercise, diet, salt intake, pregnancy, or medication
• Knuckle size relative to the base of the finger
• The width and profile of the band you intend to buy, which change how a given size fits
• Differences between manufacturers' interpretations of the same nominal ring size

Before buying an expensive or non-returnable ring — an engagement ring, a wedding band, a custom, engraved, or resized piece — confirm your size with a professional jeweler using physical sizing tools. Treat Astraia's result as a starting point for that conversation, never as a substitute for it.

We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, that any measurement or converted ring size produced by Astraia is accurate or suitable for any purchase. You are solely responsible for verifying your size before ordering. We are not responsible for a ring that does not fit, or for resizing costs, return shipping, restocking fees, engraving or customisation charges, non-refundable orders, or any other loss arising from a purchase you made in reliance on an Astraia measurement.

3. Affiliate relationships and product suggestions

Astraia is intended to be supported by affiliate commissions rather than ads or subscriptions.

• The app and this website may display product suggestions from third-party retailers, including Amazon and Etsy.
• If you follow one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
• We may participate in third-party affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Where we do, as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Product suggestions are advertising, not professional advice. We do not manufacture, sell, stock, inspect, or ship any product shown. We are not a party to your transaction with a retailer.

We make no representation about any product's quality, authenticity, materials, price, availability, or suitability. Prices, availability, sizing and descriptions are controlled by the retailer and may be out of date by the time you see them. Any dispute about an order — payment, delivery, defects, returns, warranty — is between you and that retailer, under their terms.

Commission never influences which pieces we choose to feature, and never changes the price you pay.

4. Third-party sites and services

Following a product suggestion, a share option, or any other link takes you to a service we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content, policies, security, or practices of those services. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave Astraia.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to use Astraia only for its intended purpose and lawfully. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
• Copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or rent the app
• Remove or obscure any proprietary notice
• Use the app or website in any way that interferes with its operation or another person's use of it
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, or scrape it in a way that places an unreasonable load on it

6. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Astraia on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. This licence does not transfer ownership of anything.

7. Intellectual property

Astraia — including its name, logo, interface, design, text, imagery, sizing data, and code — is owned by ARISTOURGIMA LLC and protected by intellectual property law. Product names and trademarks of retailers shown in the app or on this website belong to their respective owners; their appearance does not imply endorsement of Astraia by them, or by us of them.

8. Your data

Astraia stores your measurements on your device and transmits nothing to us. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Because there is no account and no cloud sync, your measurements exist only on your device. Uninstalling the app, resetting the device, or losing it will permanently delete them. We hold no copy and cannot recover or restore anything for you. If a measurement matters to you, write it down.

If a device backup restores Astraia's data onto a different device, the restored screen calibration will belong to the old device and will produce incorrect measurements. Re-calibrate after any device change.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue Astraia, this website, or any feature at any time, without notice or liability. We do not promise the app or site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that the app will remain compatible with future operating system versions.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Astraia is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, that its measurements will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ARISTOURGIMA LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute goods, arising out of or relating to your use of Astraia — including any purchase made in reliance on a measurement — whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Astraia will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app (which is zero) or twenty-five US dollars (US$25.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ARISTOURGIMA LLC and its members, officers, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of Astraia or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these Terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. Sections 2, 3, 7, and 10 through 15 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise or gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

15. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Astraia.

We may revise these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date, and continuing to use the app or website means you accept the revision.

16. Apple and Google

Astraia is distributed through third-party app stores. Those platforms are not parties to these Terms and have no obligation to provide support for Astraia. To the extent required by Apple, you acknowledge that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them, and that any claim about the app being defective or failing to conform is directed to us, not Apple.
